Clearly Dr. Carol Dweck has hit a chord with her popular press book dealing with cognitive/academic ability conception (Mindset: the New Psychology of Success) You can now listen to her being interviewed on NPR (Students' View of Intelligence Can Help Grades)Before everyone jumps on this useful construct as a panacea, I would urge readers to place this very solid research in a larger perspective...namely, a comprehensive Model of Academic Competence and Motivation (MACM).
