Late in her career (and...I knew Francis Swineford. Late in her career (and fairly early in mine) she was in a group which I managed (or tried to). I attempted to get Francis to use a computer to do her analyses. Her reply to me was, "Neal, did I ever tell you what my job title was when I worked for Thurstone doing factor analyses by hand? It was computer, and now you want me to use one?"
